Hello there movie fans and fans of Resident Evil despite the live action films getting a really bad negative reception from the people the franchise has found a footing when it comes to animated movies and i’m a fan of the first two animated movies and so here is my review of the third Resident Evil: Vendetta.
The story of this film is basically Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy team up with Rebecca Chambers to help take down. In all honesty the story is pretty much the standerd RE story and because of that it offers nothing new and it isn’t helped by the fact that the story is pretty weak and the fact that it times the pacing of the film is pretty slow.
The film has a pretty solid voice cast which consists of Kevin Dorman , Matthew Mercer , Erin Cahill , Kari Wahlgren and Fred Tatasciore. I have to say that the voice actors in this movie did a truly great job you always expect greatness from Matt Mercer and a few others but i had no clue what to expect from Kevin and Erin because i hadn’t heard them before and they did a great job voicing there characters but with that said i did find Kevin’s Chris to be a bit dull and as a little fact Eric Cahill played Jen on Power Rangers Time Force opposite Jason Faunt who is Leon’s motion capture actor in both this the movie and the games.
The animation for the last two animated films was done by Digital Frontier who chose not to come back and work on this one and so replacing them is Marza Animation Planet who have mostly done video game cut scenes and so for there second feature film and there first in 3D CGI i have to say that the animation is really good you can see all the hairs on a characters head and the characters them selfs look really life like. The animation is really top notch honestly when i heard that Digital Frontier weren’t coming back is was worried about the animation quality but now i can but those worries to rest.
Now this is based of a horror game but it takes more inspiration from the live action movies and by that i mean it features alot more action then it does scares which to me feels like your betraying the fans since they want scares and you refuse to give it to them but instead you give them alot of action which they don’t want.
With what i’ve just said in my mind the film does have some pretty action scenes even tho all of what happens in the final battle is very implausible all of the action in this movie shockingly doesn’t boil down to the standerd punch and kick we see the military guys use there guns as well and they also use grenades on pretty much everything so if you like things blowing up then this movie is for you.
Overall if you liked the previous animated movies or if you like the games or if you hate the live action movies then i would say check this movie out for me tho this movie is a 7 out of 10. PS if you don’t think this is a cartoon and want it taken down I’ll understand.
